First Hair Cut!
Only 5 months old and she alredy needs a hair cut! We cut off almost 2 inches of the back! and cut her bangs so the would stay out of her eyes!

From Zero to Parent in 2 days!!!!
What a whirlwind we have been through! We finished our application for adoption at the end of June. We went on vacation in July to a friend's wedding in Germany. After coming back home, we start to get back into our routine and start some new home improvement projects around the house when we get the phone call that will change our lives!!!
It is about 4 pm in the afternoon on Wednesday August 30th. I am sitting in my office working when I get a phone call from Cathy our social worker at the Adoption Agency! She says to me " I have a birth mom that has chosen you!" " she would like to meet you first!" Our reaction was " What???? Really??? Oh my god!!!"
After receiving all of the information from Cathy, including the fact that the birth mom is 39 weeks pregnant!!!!!!, Craig and I head out that night to shop at The Bay! At this point in our waiting period we thought that an adoption was at least 1 year away. Not So!! We had nothing ready. the only thing that we had was a changing table and a crib (without a mattress) that was underneath the stairs. Needless to say, we spend a few hours shopping for all the things that we would need to bring a baby home.
Friday September 1st rolls around. Just before lunch, I get a call from Cathy saying that she is going to fax me some paperwork to get out of the way early. During our conversation I ask her " What happens if the birth mom gives birth before she has a chance to meet us, since she wants to meet us before she totally agrees to us" Cathy says " Well... I am not sure, we would just have to wing it I guess!"
During lunch, I call Cathy's office to ask her a question regarding the forms she sent. I leave a message for her to call me back.
After lunch, The phone rings and it is Cathy. She says to me " You will never guess what just happened. She had the baby at 2:34am this morning! Its a girl!!!!" I am completely in shock!!! My first thought was " I'm a mommy!!!!"
By 3pm we were at the hospital to see our new daughter! I don't have the words to express the joy that Craig and I felt, But at the same time it all felt so unreal. That this couldn't be happening!
During the long weekend ( Labour Day ! ) we spent almost all our time at the hospital. We got to bond with her right away. We even got to give her the first bath!
On Tuesday the 5th we took her home! We are now a bigger family. Daddy, Mommy and our new baby Peyton Elizabeth
